Just enough science and anatomy to make sense of the nutrition and exercise ideas. Understanding the relationships of all these things is key to success. Already on a good program (pretty close to his program), having lost 45 pounds of fat in 14 months, I wondered if this book could offer me more.

I was intrigued because I still have annoying, stubborn love handles and a little belly fat. After a quick read, I found 3 great clues as to why I am stuck, and what I should do to correct my program. I have total confidence these changes will work, and am fired up to get to it. Whether you are looking to start a program, or make positive changes to the one you are on, this book will help.

This inherited characteristic is apparently only found in males.

It affects the skin on the crown causing hair thinning in and around the crown creating a certain pattern. Normally this fault results due to failure of follicles to produce regular hair roots. The weak hair roots cause the growth of thin hair which eventually falls off leaving a clear field, hence baldness.

The present follicle weakens further and can no longer support production of new hair. Different study units have shown that male pattern baldness is more of a genetic factor, with other claiming a portion of non-genetic links but none has been proved as yet. However, different theories try to argue the reasons for male pattern baldness linking it to sex hormones, diet and atmospheric pollution. Nevertheless, these theories have not fully been supported by any philosophical ground.

It starts by shrinking of the hairline that eventually recedes forming an M shape on the crown. Almost simultaneously, the hair around the hairline covering the crown starts getting thinner and weaker, and slowly starts disappearing resulting to a more prominent M shape on the crown. The hair transplant expert will diagnose male pattern baldness after closely looking at the condition of the hairs, the scalp and most importantly, the shape of the hair line.

Generally, doctors will recognize this pattern after looking at your crown without having to perform any tests.
